The USS Bridget (CDE-1024) was named after Francis Joseph Bridget. The ship was built by the Seattle Naval Station Puget Sound in Seattle, Washington. The USS Bridget was officially commissioned on October 24, 1957, and it was in active service for nearly 16 years until it was decommissioned in September 1973.

The ship was stricken from the naval register on November 12, 1973, and was eventually sold for scrap.
