USS Chauncey (DD-667)

The USS Chauncey (DD-667) was named in honor of Isaac Chauncey. The ship was built by the Federal Shipbuilding & Drydock in Kearny, New Jersey. Construction began on November 14, 1942, and the Chauncey was launched on March 28, 1943. Following its launch, the ship was commissioned on May 31, 1943.

After active service for approximately 10 years and 11 months, the USS Chauncey was decommissioned on May 14, 1954. The ship was stricken from the naval register on October 1, 1972.

USS Chauncey was eventually sold for scrapping on January 2, 1974.
