USS Jason (ARH-1, AR-8)

The USS Jason, named after the Greek mythological figure Jason, was built by the Todd Shipyard in San Pedro, California. The ship was laid down on March 9, 1942, then launched on April 3, 1943. During its service, the USS Jason was awarded the Korean Service Medal and three campaign stars for its participation in the Vietnam War. The ship met its fate in 2007 when it was scrapped.
