The USS Brush (DD-745) was named after Charles F. Brush and constructed by Bethlehem Steel in Staten Island, New York. Its construction began on July 30, 1943, and it was launched later that same year on December 28. The vessel was sponsored by Mrs. Virginia Perkins. Upon its commissioning on April 17, 1944, the USS Brush served actively for 25 years and six months before being decommissioned and stricken on October 27, 1969.

USS Brush callsign was NKMX and it was identified by the hull number DD-745. Following its retirement, it was sold to Taiwan on December 9, 1969.
