USS Constellation (CV-64)

The USS Constellation, also known by its nickname "Connie", is an aircraft carrier bearing the hull number CVA-64. Its namesake is also named "Constellation". The contract for its construction was awarded on July 1, 1956, and it was built at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York, with a cost of US$264.5 million. The ship was laid down on September 14, 1957, and was launched on October 8, 1960.

USS Constellation was acquired on October 1, 1961, and subsequently commissioned on October 27, 1961. It was in active service for approximately 41 years and 10 months before being decommissioned on August 6, 2003. Shortly after, it was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on December 2, 2003.

The ship's fate was to be scrapped, which occurred on May 10, 2017.
