USS Edmonds (DE-406)
The USS Edmonds (DE-406) was laid down on November 1, 1943 by the Brown & Root Shipyard in Houston, Texas. A little over a month later, on December 17, 1943, it was launched. It was commissioned on April 3, 1944, and served until it was decommissioned on May 31, 1946. The Edmonds returned to service on February 28, 1951 and remained active for over 14 years until it went out of service in April 1965.
USS Edmonds was stricken on May 15, 1972 and its fate was sealed on September 20, 1973 when it was sold for scrapping.
