The first time was from June 7, 1943 to 1947, and the second time was from March 15, 1955 to June 20, 1960. With these periods combined, the vessel was active for a total of 10 years and 1 month.
In August 1954, the Pillsbury was reclassified as DER-133. The ship was stricken on July 1, 1965. During its service, the USS Pillsbury was recognized with 5 battle stars and was also awarded a Presidential Unit Citation. In 1966, the ship was sold for scrapping.
