USS San Pablo (AVP-30, AGS-30)

The USS San Pablo (AVP-30), named after San Pablo Bay in California, was built by the Seattle Naval Station Puget Sound in Seattle, Washington. The ship's construction started on July 2, 1941 and was launched on March 31, 1942, sponsored by Mrs. W. A. Hall. It was officially commissioned on March 15, 1943, and then decommissioned on January 13, 1947, only to be recommissioned on September 17, 1948.

On August 25, 1949, the USS San Pablo was reclassified as a hydrographic survey ship, AGS-30. The ship's service came to an end when it was decommissioned again on May 29, 1969, after being active for a total of 23 years and 10 months. It was stricken on June 1, 1969.

The USS San Pablo was decorated with four battle stars for its service during World War II. Following its decommission, it was loaned to a private research center in 1969 and then sold on September 14, 1971. Notably, the USS San Pablo served as a seaplane tender from 1943 to 1947, and as a hydrographic survey ship from 1948 to 1969.
